The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development ( EBRD ) has signed a €172 million ( US$202 million ) loan with Turkish renewables company Enerjisa Üretim.

The bank’s support will enable the construction of 250 megawatts of wind power plants in Muğla, Türkiye, as part of the 1-gigawatt Enerjisa Üretim‘s wind portfolio.

The project will generate approximately 630 gigawatt-hours of green electricity annually and avoid around 221,000 tonnes of carbon-dioxide emissions. In addition to supporting Türkiye’s net-zero ambitions, the project will strengthen energy security and reduce the country’s reliance on fossil fuels.
